The historic quarter in Colonia de Sacramento is a very nice,
touristic place, where you can stroll around, enjoy a cup of
coffee and have a relaxing view of the Rio de la Plata, which
is as wide as the sea. In summer it might be crowded, in winter
it is very quiet.
The old buildings are partly in reconstruction, others already
well preserved. The mixture of Portuges, Spanish and post-colonial
architecture is fascinating. So are the oldtimers you can find
all through the city. We enjoyed our time there!
